SPEAK UP SEWANEE
Organizing through an intersectional framework, community members of Sewanee: The University of the South are speaking up. We strive to mobilize Sewanee and the larger community through protests against Sewanee's Board of Regents' decision to protect Charlie Rose's honorary degree. We demand that the degree be revoked and seek to inspire open and honest dialogue addressing our campus climate on sexual misconduct.
This platform provides a space to better understand the broader implications of this decision. Speak Up Sewanee challenges systemic problems that allow sexual misconduct to flourish. This website is created to acknowledge the lack of transparency between our administration and our community at large, and by default, a similar pattern we are witnessing within our national political climate. We are attempting to give power back to the people by creating a forum where all individuals are allowed to share their stories pertaining to how their administration at the university, local, state, and national level has failed them.
Our voices will be heard.
